Midweek Midrash

November 27, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

During the Midweek Midrash, we will go deeper into the previous week’s Torah Study. We’ll read the Additional Portion (e.g. Enoch, Jubilees, Sirach, Wisdom of Solomon, etc.), we’ll read all of the Related Scriptures and the Related Additional Readings. Commentary will be provided throughout the readings. Questions and comments throughout the entire lively Midrash is HIGHLY encouraged. Please come ready to learn and be challenged. Nothing is off limits during the Midweek Midrash.

מִדְרָשׁ midrash (H4097) means to create a study, commentary, record, or story after searching for answers (cf. 2 Chronicles 13:22; 2 Chronicles 24:27). מִדְרָשׁ midrash comes from the root word דָּרַשׁ drash (H1875) which means “to seek” and is equivalent with ἐκζητέω ekzēteō (G1567) meaning to seek out, investigate, or scrutinize  in order to find (cf. Romans 3:11; Hebrews 11:6; Hebrews 12:17; 1 Peter 1:10).
