Commonly translated as ignorance, unawares, unwittingly, unintentionally, or inadvertantly, שְׁגָגָה shigagah (H7684) is an error in calculation or understanding and comes from the root שְׁגָ shag which literally means “double burden” because when work is found to be in error, the work must be redone (Jeff Benner).
