Most often translated, “everlasting,” עוֹלָם ‘olam literally means, “a hidden time” as in a time hidden from the present; a distant time in the past or future. When עוֹלָם ‘olam is used to reference something that is everlasting or eternal, the equivalent Greek is αιωνιον or αἰώνιος (aionion or aiónios) which means eternal, everlasting, or perpetual and is related to the Greek αἰών aeon or eon (G165) which refers to an unbroken age or perpetuity of time.
