ἐξομολογέω exomologéo means to acknowledge or (by implication, of assent) agree fully:—confess, profess, promise. In the Apostolic Scriptures, G1843 is commonly translated as confessing (3), confess (2), consented (1), give (1), Confess (1).

ἐξομολογέω exomologéo is equivalent to ידה yadah (H3034) which literally means to “throw the hand” or stretch out the hand to grab (cf. Isaiah 11:8); to show thanks or praise—when written in the hiphil [active causative] form (cf. Genesis 29:35; Psalm 18:49) or confession—when written in the hitpa’el [reflexive] form (cf. Job 40:14; Psalm 32:5; Proverbs 28:13).
