שְׁלָמִים shelamim (H8002) means to be in a state of wholeness or to restore or make right through payment or restitution. When referring to a sacrifice, שְׁלָמִים shelamim is a sacrifice or offering given to bring about wholeness, restoration, restitution, or peace. שְׁלָמִים shelamim is translated as “offerings of restitution” in Jeff Benner’s Mechanical Translation of the Torah and “sacrifice of deliverance” in Charles Vanderpool’s Apostolic Bible Polyglot where the Greek Old Testament translates שְׁלָמִים shelamim as σωτηρίου sotiríou (G4992).
