Commonly translated as “prophesy” נַבְּאִֽים naveim (H5012) comes from a root that literally means “seed inside” and is represented by fruits, since fruit hides the seeds inside it. A person who speaks prophecy is one who announces or utters the words or instructions of Elohim received through a vision or dream (cf. Numbers 12:6).
