Instead of בּן־משׁה (son of Mosheh), the Masoretic Text has בּן־מנשּׁה with a hanging נ (nun) between מ (mem) and שׁ (shin), reading “Manasheh,” a possible scribal attempt to protect the reputation of Mosheh (Moses).
