μετατίθημι metatithēmi (G3346) means to cause two or more things to change places with each other (cf. Genesis 5:24; Deuteronomy 27:17). It can also mean to transfer to a different place or context. μετατίθημι metatithēmi is equivalent to the Hebrew word לָקַח laqach (H3947) which means “to take” in the sense of laying hold of something figuratively or with one’s hands (cf. Genesis 2:15; Genesis 2:21-23) or tongs/snuffers (מַלְקָחַיִם malaqachayim cf. Numbers 4:9)
